Abstract

NINA, Osvaldo; MOLINA, Oscar; BARRIENTOS, Paola  and  AGUILAR, Paloma. ¿Es equitativa en Bolivia la asignación del gasto público en educación?. rlde [online]. 2006, n.7, pp.57-96. ISSN 2074-4706.

The paper analyzes the equity of public school expenditure with the purpose of determining the degree of horizontal and vertical imbalance that constitutes the main arguments for intergovernmental transfers. Besides, it evaluates how this allocation is influencing school performance. The findings suggest that the school finalice policy should consider education out-comes, such as academic performance or completion rate, for intergovernmental transfers. Likewise, to promote equal opportunity, compensatory educational policies should be introduced to counteract the negative factors that affect school performance.
