Abstract

The objective of this research was to analyze the germination of spore of Bacillus thuringiensis Bt-1, Bt-2, and Bt HD of diverse isolation source. In that sense Bt strain were inoculated alone in sterile soil enrichment with different glucose concentration as carbon (C) source, with NH4NO3 as nitrogen (N) source and yeast extract as growth factor to determine de density of germination of spores were pasteurized by using plate accounting viable technique by pasteurization of the soil samples on nutrient agar. The results showed differences between the strains tested. The spores of strains Bt-1, Bt-2 and Bt-HD-1 had better capacity of germination than the spores of strain Bt-HD-1 which showed high nutritional demand, since the spores of strain Bt-HD-1 required, to germinate of dextrose, NH4NO3 and yeast extract. This suggest that the nutritional exigency observed may be related with its original habitat of isolation, since the Bt-1, Bt-2 strains are native from soils were capable to utilize part of the organic material of the soil and glucose. While Bt-HD-1 isolated from insects require specific nutrient for geminating its spore in the soil and the possible success in the effectiveness of the crystal-spore complex in the biological control of agricultural pest insects.
