Abstract Exposure to the violation of personal data is a reality that affects all people who use technological devices. This means that adequate information is studied and obtained to make decisions in this regard. The general objective of the research work is "To determine the degree of knowledge about computer security and the development of an application that guides the prevention of data and assets infringement". The work was carried out under qualitative descriptive research techniques, performing descriptive and inferential analysis under a mixed generalized linear model. The results of the research on the degree of knowledge that users have about computer security, in 8 and 5% in men and women respectively who know about computer security; in occupation, those who know the most are Professional 46%. This information is the starting point for the development of an informative mobile application that helps to make users aware of the ease with which their data can be extracted and compromised.
