Abstract University life is a period of adaptation, students set new goals and objectives. Therefore, they must present a judgment of their own abilities and need to maintain a persistent motivation for their university studies. Its main objective is to determine the correlation between general self-eíficacy and academic engagement in university students at La Salle University. The present investigation is of a descriptive bi-varied correlational type.. The research was carried out with a total of 300 students, by a non-probabilistic convenience sampling. Both the general self-eíficacy scale and the academic engagement scale were analyzed with other sociodemographic variables. Obtaining as a final result that there is a direct positive relationship with a correlation valué of 0.230 between general self-eíficacy and academic engagement.
