For this study, an evaluation battery was prepared by compiling the aforementioned scales, and the statistical tool SPSS was used to analyze the data, resulting in a descriptive correlation study of a quantitative nature. Thus, it was found that there is a significant relationship of - ,438 between perceived social support and levels of depression in older adults in the urban area of the city of La Paz. Likewise, there are certain socio-economic and socio-demographic factors (housing situation, monthly income received, source of income, frequency of visits, marital status, etc.) that have a significant relationship with the perceived social support and the depression of the older adults, which influence levels of both depression and perceived social support, in some cases increasing levels or decreasing.
