Abstract The use experience of the GameStar Mechanic and Kodu GameLab platforms is described. Both tools are recommended by governmental institutions from Chile and USAto be used in the teaching-learning process. The description is done through quantitative indicators evaluating its requirements and technical characteristics. Furthermore, the creation of a game under a curricular perspective allows to set implications for the education as a pedagogic tool. This way, its strengths and potentialities are established, as well as its difficulties and weaknesses when used
