Abstract

The indian problem, as it was called by the intellectuals of the first decades of the 20th century, was addressed form different perspectives within what was named the liberal period in Bolivia's history, in this period an indigenist line of thinking based in the concepts of race was born looking forward to apply civilizatory policies that would insert the indigenous people in the modern concept of citizenship starting from its education. The present investigation explores, using literature analysis, those lines of thinking to determine if they, in any way, had influenced in the writing of the 2009 Constitution.
