The article systematizes the fundamental aspects of the institution of patrimony in Venezuelan Civil Law, while considering foreign doctrinal references, since it is a figure of universal interest. It offers a brief overview of the theme in its fundamental aspects: notion, legal nature, characteristics, elements and theories. Finally, it closes with references to the separate patrimony, as well as the autonomous patrimony, to culminate with a brief account of the patrimonial responsibility, basic guarantee of Civil Law.
