TOSCANI GIMENEZ, Daniel. Powers of the company to monitor compliance with labor obligations of its employees through video surveillance. Rev. Bol. Der. [online]. 2017, n.23, pp.366-373. ISSN 2070-8157.

The Court Ruling that we are analyzing changes the legal criteria that had been established in previous statements, regarding the powers of the company to monitor compliance with labor obligations of their employees, through video surveillance. Prior statements emphasized the need for workers to know, not only the fact of the existence of camcorders, but also that the cameras were intended for the enforcement of labor obligations and, therefore, the possibility of the company to penalize workers based on the images obtained. Now, however, the High Court allows the existence of hidden or covert video cameras, when there are grounds for suspicion of a breach of labor obligations by a worker.

Palavras-chave : Video surveillance; privacy; expectations of confidentiality.
