Abstract

BLANCO GARCIA, Ana Isabel. Banking conflicts with consumers: endemic or common concern?. Rev. Bol. Der. [online]. 2016, n.21, pp.230-253. ISSN 2070-8157.

This paper highlights that banking conflicts with customers are common independently from the operating banking system and thus, not exclusive to Spain. We can no longer consider banking systems from a local viewpoint, but rather from a global one. In practice, this is reflected on the controversial commercial policies of complex products, with severe implications not only on the economy but also on the society in general. This paper analyses three relevant problems in three different banking systems: Spain, United Kingdom and Australia, which allows us to state that banking conflicts are indeed a concern, but a shared one within our globalised world.

Keywords : Banking conflicts; customers; floor clause; payment protection insurance; financial planning.
