Abstract

In this paper it is analyzed, from the perspective of Private Law, the phenomenon of self-regulation in the field of electronic commerce. In this sense, for this purpose, it is taken into consideration the current legal regulations in Chile.The exposition begins by taking as a starting point the pre-contractual information duties in which the self-discipline plays a remarkable value. Particularly significant is the relationship that this subject holds with the principle of good faith.The central analysis is, in any case, the self-regulation. In this regard, important aspects such as the following are discussed: concept and characters; budgets that self-discipline systems must comply; the possible legal status that it deserves; and the consequences of its negligence.
