LEPIN MOLINA, Cristián. Evolution of women's civil rights under Chilean law (1855-2015). Rev. Bol. Der. [online]. 2016, n.21, pp.74-93. ISSN 2070-8157.
The present article critically reviews the evolution of women's rights under Chilean law, since the enactment of its Civil Code (1855), distinguishing between the situation of single women compared to that of married women. The author recognizes two major stages of this development, an expansion of rights period (1925-1989), triggered by various social transformations, such as the incorporation of women into the workplace, and an equalizing of rights period (1989-2013), catalyzed by the International Treaties on Human Rights, currently under development, an area in which the Chilean State has several outstanding commitments.
