Unaccompanied foreign minors have become the new actors of the migratory process, owing to its exponential evolutionary growth and special characteristics.The regulation of this question has been the object of significant advances in Spanish legislation, due to important judicial decisions; however, a number of challenges still remain.

Keywords : Unaccompanied minors; age determination; right to effective judicial protection and right to be heard; the superior interests of the child and repatriation.
