Abstract

BECERRA DE MOYA, Rosa. Action Research: the silent voice. Rev. de Inv. Educ. [online]. 2015, vol.8, n.1, pp.141-157. ISSN 1997-4043.

Working tools of scientífic research have been and will predominantly paradigms and techniques that countless generations of scientists have tried to interpret reality. But these working tools are not neutral, but take the sense we give them in different fields of knowledge. When social scientists begin to understand that "scientífic research" knew or did not meet the benchmarks and the dominant categories in the research paradigms in force in Europe and the United States, the theoretical and methodological difficultíes we face are evident to want to transfer to the social area. Based on the criticism of the positivist and interpretive paradigms emerges the option of research in Socio-Critical Paradigm as a form of inquiry that tries to incorporate an understanding of the indissoluble nature of theory and practical unit. It is action and reflectíon in common; a commitment of everyone in the transformation of reality, which cannot do alone, and man is a social being, a historical being. It is practice that involves the action and reflectíon of men to transform it "(Freire, 1974), the true source of man's creation and knowledge about the world to transform it, to overcome the oppressor-oppressed contradiction. Praxis dialogic and communicative appear here as the enabler vehicle to an emancipatory horizon.

Keywords : Paradigma socio-crítico; investigación-acción; praxis.
