Abstract
HERNANDEZ PASTOR, Pilar. Operational research in health and its relevance to reach the national and international development goals in Bolivia. Rev. de Inv. Educ. [online]. 2013, vol.6, n.2, pp.195-211. ISSN 1997-4043.
Operational research (OR) in health, a still poorly developed discipline, has the objective of providing with useful information to decision-makers in order to improve health policies at local, regional or national level. OR research questions are originated from problems detected on the implementation of health projects in the field, and the answers to these questions aim at giving a solution for these difficulties. Currently, one of the main barriers to reach the national and international development goals in Bolivia is the weakness of the health system, and therefore operational research could be a useful tool in order to solve this problem.
