SARZURI-LIMA, Marcelo. Los caminos de la educación comunitaria: de la articulación señorial a la lucha. Rev. de Inv. Educ. [online]. 2011, vol.4, n.2, pp.85-104. ISSN 1997-4043.
ABSTRACT The present essay consists of two parts: the first analyzes the Bolivian Education Code of 1955 and the Bilingual Intercultural Education of the Education Reform of 1994 - both seeking different ends and using different technologies of domination - as forms of re-articulating the domination of Bolivian politics, economy and society. The first part shows that the Bolivian nation-state has a distinctly colonial structure and forms implemented over time to negate, exclude and divide the indigenous population in order to maintain a hegemonic order and a governing caste with a hierarchical and colonial vision of the world. The second part intends to dismantle this vision of the indigenous as an "essentialized otherness" and shows the strategies of resistance of the indigenous community that demolish the barriers of exclusion of the nation-state; these are realized through the re-appropriation and the re-signification of the institutions and practices that normally respond to the state, but that are now being used by indigenous communities for their own ends and as mechanisms of defense against the state barriers and exclusions.
