ABSTRACT In the L2 didactics the search of flexibility in the methodology is visible in the continuous fluctuations between methods and focus. In the XX century a true methodological revolution took place; many students could not transfer what they learnt in the classroom to real situations of interactive communication. Such incapacity has encouraged research in the teaching of L2 according the need of intercultural and transcultural processes
