ABSTRACT The essay presents an approach to the education for democracy from John Dewey and Luis Beltrán Prieto. The work explains the currency of the educational proposals, and presents some questions that we believe are relevant in the historical context of the present century in Latin America, with reference to the liberation philosophy of Dussel, the changes suffered in the times that run and the democracy for build.
