Abstract

BANSART, Andrés. Educación mutua para el ecosocialismo. Rev. de Inv. Educ. [online]. 2010, vol.3, n.3, pp.97-110. ISSN 1997-4043.

The article begins by specifying "development" as a concept, in the sense of making a critical approach to it as a synonym for "economic growth". Starting from this misunderstanding, we find expressions such as "developed" and "underdeveloped countries". But development is not the same as economic growth. As an evidence we have the social, ethical and human conditions evident in the so-called developed countries. This also applies to the failed socialist experiences, because of the lack of respect towards nature. We have the challenge to invent eco-socialism as a new form of society and as a compound of relationships between humans and nature in balance. As a search of balance between the being, being here and doing. This personal and collective performance has to be taught and learnt. This process of learning is understood as coming out of oneself reaching out to the collectivity and its environment. The group should also learn in the ecosystem where it belongs, close to the other collectivities. Both the collective being and each individual must face the revolution and enhance the ecological, economic and political culture, to become an agent of their own development. That is, to exercise the power of the people. In an eco-socialist society, education and information develop, from local to global trough intercommunication and sharing to reach self-determination of collectivities and peoples.

Keywords : development; economic growth; humans and nature in balance; education; ecosystem; revolution; ecosocialism.
