SARZURI-LIMA, Marcelo  y  VIANA, Jorge. Pensar una ética para la emancipación. Rev. de Inv. Educ. [online]. 2010, vol.3, n.3, pp.39-61. ISSN 1997-4043.

ABSTRACT The essay is the reflection about the possibility of ethics that go beyond the social relations of the capitalist society. It states the impossibility of this ethics without dismounting removing the body that formalizes these relationships, that is, the state. The state shows the characteristic of being the most rational form of organization and has established a certain kind of social relations and with it a sense of fairness, ethic, and rectitude, but social relations are formalized not as human relations but as material relationships between people. Under this understanding, the article states that ethics can not just call for the "more noble feeling" of human beings, in any case it must take position about the fact that capitalism is destroying life and that ethics should not support any such order of things, in any case, it has to become an affirmation of life. Such argument can only come from the contradictions that the modern world-system shows in reality, thus challenging reality itself, Ethics that encourage emancipation cannot be only an issue of anti-capitalist agendas, it has to be accompanied by the atatement of dismounting the modern thought, the state and its reason.

Palabras clave : State; ethics; modern thought; emancipation.
