Abstract

GRACIA, Mariagabriela. Formando docentes de matemática para la enseñanza del álgebra lineal. Rev. de Inv. Educ. [online]. 2010, vol.3, n.2, pp.235-262. ISSN 1997-4043.

The present study's purpose is to design and apply a proposal, based on real problems solving, for the teaching of matrixes and lineal equations systems to the in training math teachers so, in order to do it, we have used the action-research method. Whit this intention, we have designed learning situations which were applied later in the Introduction to Lineal Algebra course on a group of math students of the José Manuel Siso Martínez Pedagogical Institute of Miranda. In order to collect the data obtained during the implementation process of this pedagogic project, we have applied the mid- structured depth interview technique; by the other side, the students wrote class diaries. All the data collected with these instruments was analyzed using an applet called Atlas-Ti, beginning from categorization (Martínez, 2007) and triangulation (Ferrer y Jiménez, 2006) processes. Within the conclusions of this study, we can highlight: 1) One of the main difficulties in the formulation of problems that become from a real context is the real data organization and the complexity that the reality presents to the students. 2) The students think that the lineal programming problems allow the work over diverse math themes, giving them an over the reality meaning. 3) This type of strategies for real context problems formulation and solving must and can be carried to the classroom for its use in high school, both the math skills that allow getting and the motivation it raises in the students.
