Abstract

CHAVEZ RODRIGUEZ, Alfonso. Descolonización del enfoque descolonizador. Rev. de Inv. Educ. [online]. 2010, vol.3, n.1, pp.161-171. ISSN 1997-4043.

All forms of addressing the issues of colonization and decolonization answer a particular approach to history. In Bolivia, as in other countries, the predominant view, the officially secular one, was deeply and widely marked by colonial chroniclers, while presented and applied as an objective, scientific and neutral point of view. This epistemological position was replicated with a contrary one, which, however, contains the same beliefs and the same claims of objectivity, scientific approach and neutrality. This approach is, paradoxically, the one from those whoare striving to decolonize the ways of being and thinking inherited from the colony. Faced with this contradiction, there were those who questioned and question the approach of the colonial chroniclers, without incurring in idealizations of the past, in Manichean conceptíons, distortions of contemporary history of the country or ethnocentric exclusivism.

Keywords : colonization; decolonization and decolonizing approach.
