ABSTRACT Under internal and external forces, the Bolivian universities have begun to walk the road of change. Signs show that this change will be different from previous ones because it affects the way of teaching that had been fixed for a long time.The transformation experience started on 2005 and the evaluation done four years later shows aspects that have to be taken into account for the continuity of this process. This article analyzes the reasons why change, in some cases, moves forward, and in others, stops or moves back. This analysis is based on a referential framework defined by Louis (2008), which is based on Rogers (1995).
