Abstract

QUIROZ CALLE, Pedro  and  VAZQUEZ HORTA, Frank. La profesionalización del Director. Rev. de Inv. Educ. [online]. 2009, vol.2, n.3, pp.67-86. ISSN 1997-4043.

ABSTRACT "The Professionalization of the Director" addresses a topic of current interest to Latin American countries and, in particular, to Bolivia, for the transformations that are currently generating in education as a result of the new bill Avelino Siñani-Elizardo Perez and the new curriculum design, which aknowledge the foundations of educational change that will respond to the demand of a certain individual in the bolivian society. To achieve the purposes stated in the governing documents of education in Bolivia, we need managers who show a deep knowledge on the basics of pedagogy and didactics as sciences, and a mastery of the management theory to drive instruction-eucation and development dimensions in the direction of educational management. The article presents a conceptual analysis of the idea of professionalization, we arrive to a definition of "professionalism of the director" and expose a proposal of dimensions, indicators, and levels of development that, without being dogmatic, can contribute to an educational management conducting process the director can achieve with greater scientific rigor.
