Abstract

VIANA, Jorge  and  CLAROS, Luis. Aprendizaje y relaciones de subordinación. Consecuencias de la concepción representacionista de la verdad. Rev. de Inv. Educ. [online]. 2009, vol.2, n.2, pp.137-151. ISSN 1997-4043.

ABSTRACT The concept of learning necessarily implies a certain conception of what is knowledge and what is truth. The conventional conception is called "representationist", consisting in showing as reality the mechanical reflection of an external object in the subject and subjective activity. This conception involves the establishment of hierarchical relations among subjects: the one that possesses truth on the one hand and the one that lacks truth on the other hand; on the level of cultures this hierarchical relation is presented as a relation between advanced and less developed cultures. In order to de-structurize these hierarchical relations it is necessary to criticize the representationist conception of truth. The criticism of this conception shows that truth is a human construct, that it is contingent and that it has history. Showing the radical historicalness and contextuality of truth permits us to question the hierarchical relations traditionally legitimized by the representationist conception of truth.

Keywords : Truth; Representationism; Domination; Colonial relations.
