ABSTRACT The essentials results of the development and research project, "Pre-university Model", has laid the bases for the design of the transformations of this education level in Cuba in its actual phase of completion. The most important theoretical contribution is to design and establish a new curricular model that integrates and gives continuity to the most valuable pedagogical ideas and methodological conceptions about the formative and academic labour in Cuba as in others parts of the word. The theory and the modelling process of this research are based on philosophical, sociological, psychological and pedagogical conceptions, with a Marxist focus, enriched in Cuba with autochthonic roots and with ideas of Félix Varela, José de la Luz y Caballero and José Martí, to name only a few.
