Abstract

VILLAR VARGAS, Mario Fidel  and  ARAYA-CASTILLO, Luis. Organizational learning capacity measurement scale: application in big mining. Perspectivas [online]. 2019, n.44, pp.9-43. ISSN 1994-3733.

The interest in researching organizational learning has intensified in recent decades. The different authors propose different ways of understanding, implementing and measuring this learning. The greatest difficulties are precisely in the measurement. Some researchers propose multidimensional models of learning measurement scales. The objective of this research was to propose a scale of measurement of organizational learning capacity for large mining companies in the Antofagasta region, thus contributing to the development of a construct that allows measuring organizational learning in this context. For this, an instrument was developed based on a review of previously validated theoretical constructs. From this, six dimensions were established. This process was facilitated by a pilot test administered in companies of the mining sector to ensure that the different elements were comprehensible and adequately reflected the aspect to be measured. The results of the pilot administration of the measurement scale yielded as a measure of consistency a Cronbach alpha greater than 0.8 in each of the final sub-scales, higher by at least 0.1 point of the threshold considered acceptable. Finally, the scale resulted in 24 items to represent the six dimensions.
