This note comments "Avances y desafíos en la historia económica de la Bolivia independiente" published in T'inkazos 37. It offers additional key works to understand Bolivian economic history; it discusses the work of Peñaloza (1981-1987) and highlights the work of Thorp (1998) in the development of Latin American economic history. Finally, it provides additional challenges faced by Bolivian economic history.
