Abstract

WINKEL, Thierry et al. El presunto desastre ambiental y social de la quinua real: desarmar los clichés para reforzar la ética1The presumed environmental and social disaster of Quinua Real: dismantling clichés to strengthen ethics. Tinkazos [online]. 2015, vol.18, n.38, pp.127-142. ISSN 1990-7451.

The quinoa boom has provoked a lively debate about its social and ecological impacts in the southern Bolivian highlands, the world's leading export zone. An interdisciplinary analysis puts in perspective those changes seen in the last 40 years. While acknowledging the need for further support to local agrarian dynamics around quinoa production, we challenge affirmations about its unsustainability in southern Bolivia.

Keywords : agricultural sustainability; agronomy; ethics; preconceptions; quinoa; technoscience.
