Youth gangs are one of the least studied phenomena in Bolivia. In this article, the author presents the results of research carried out in the Max Paredes Macrodistrict. Based on case studies, a review of newspaper reports and the systematization and analysis of pólice statistics, it provides information on youth gangs in La Paz, who their members are, their typical characteristics, where they opérate and what type of dynamics they genérate in the city.
