This article aims to present and discuss the main contributións made by Bolivia, su historia in relatión to the económic históry of post-independence Bolivia, a period covered in Volumes IV, V and VI. The centrality of these contributions, as well as the challenges that remain to be addressed, is evaluated in the light of recent developments in Latin American economic historiography.
