Abstract

SEOANE FLORES, Alfredo Vicente. Milestones in the history of Bolivian industry. Tinkazos [online]. 2015, vol.18, n.37, pp.65-85. ISSN 1990-7451.

The effects of the First World War and the crisis of the 1920s stimulated investment in production and the growth of industry in Bolivia at the start of the 2Oth century, when private initiative supported important new enterprises. With the Bohan Plan, the development of a diversified productive sector gained prominence in the country's public policy agenda, with actions to promote the integration of the Eastern lowlands, diversify farming and develop industry. This article identifies and analyses relevant moments in this process.

Keywords : industry; manufacturing industry; agricultural production; Chaco War; Bohan Plan; mining economy; Bolivian economy; investment.
