This article presents the findings of a research study that analysed political participation by Chiquitano and Guaraní indigenous people in the department of Santa Cruz as they apply the right to community democracy. The study, carried out by young researchers, sought to contribute to a new conceptualization of community democracy from the country’s lowlands.
