The changes that have taken place in Santa Cruz should be read in terms of the economy, but it is also essential to look at the region’s social structures, political paths, values, myths, and new socio-demographic dynamics. The analysis by researchers and professionals from the region in this dialogue also identifies the emergence of a solid middle class that is young and urban. This group is shaking up local social structures and showing an interesting potential.
