In this article, the author identifies and analyses some of the contributions made by the research published by PIEB that includes gender issues. The review looks at the situation of women in rural and urban areas with regard to their political participation and leadership and economic and development aspects, among others. It highlights the emergence of new actors in Bolivian society, where women are playing a leading role linked to the dynamic trade sector
