Eight years on, the government of Evo Morales and the MAS has accomplished major achievements, but cracks have also emerged in its diverse support base and there are challenges with regard to transforming the structure of the country’s economy to take it beyond the production and export of commodities. This article offers an assessment of the so-called “process of change” and analyses its challenges and future prospects
