Abstract

YAPU, Mario. Education in Bolivia for the last twenty years: two reforms and some social research issues. Tinkazos [online]. 2013, vol.16, n.34, pp.131-152. ISSN 1990-7451.

The aim of this article is to show the relationship between social research, public policies and civil society. In the context of the two education reforms launched in 1994 and 2010, the author analyses developments in the issues addressed in 27 research studies published by PIEB. He argues that the relationship between public policies and research on education is tenuous and distant, but not altogether absent. Research that produces quantitative and qualitative data on education offers insights on the conditions in which education reforms are applied.

Keywords : education; education policies; research; rural education; teacher training; higher education; technical education; violence in schools.
