This article assesses the Millennium Goals alongside the impacts of climate change. The climate crisis, the author argues, requires developing countries to take action urgently to adapt their economy and production, their health and education systems, and their management and planning tools and institutions to cope with situations of major vulnerability in the near future. Mitigation, adaptation, integrated development and poverty eradication all demand priority attention.
