Abstract

BAZOBERRY CHALI, Oscar. Statistical data and their implications for the farming sector and the rural population in Bolivia. Tinkazos [online]. 2012, vol.15, n.32, pp.61-73. ISSN 1990-7451.

The author argues that Bolivia now has a historic opportunity to reactivate an information system that examines farming and forestry statistics more carefully and systematically, in order to promote effective rural development which focuses on the country’s rural and indigenous population. This opportunity, offered by the imminent Population and Housing Census and the forthcoming Farming Census, also brings significant challenges, such as how to generate and interpret good plurinational and pluriterritorial data

Keywords : farming censuses; information systems; statistical data; information analysis; rural population; human settlements; income distribution.
