    Abstract

    Basedontheanalysis of a 19-day regional conflictthattook place in thedepartment of Potosí in July and August 2010, theauthorreflectsongroupidentity and thecollectivesubjectsit appeals to and mobilises, showingthatalthoughmobilisationiscapable of generating social cohesion, itmayalsoconcealprofound social fissures, thuspostponing a seriousdiscussiontorethinktheproblemsexperiencedbythedepartment of Potosí, one of thepoorestregions of Bolivia.
