Abstract

FORNO, Eduardo  and  PAUWELS, Gilberto. Environmental pollution and social groups in Bolivia: a situation assessment. Tinkazos [online]. 2010, vol.13, suppl.1, pp.261-280. ISSN 1990-7451.

Does environmental awareness exist in Bolivia? What are the consequences of the cumulative effects of pollution caused by mining? How high is the quality of the water we drink? What is the situation with agrochemicals and how are they used? How polluted are our cities? Is this country’s environmental legislation appropriate? These are some of the questions discussed in a dialogue between specialists and environmental activists, whose valuable contributions reveal different points of view on the current situation and the challenges still to be addressed.

Keywords : Mining pollution; heavy metal pollution; water pollution; drinking water; pollution caused by farming; urban pollution; acidification; legislation.
