Abstract

HINOJOSA GORDONAVA, Alfonso. Making transnational migration visible in Bolivia. Tinkazos [online]. 2010, vol.13, suppl.1, pp.243-259. ISSN 1990-7451.

We are witnessing a vigorous resurgence of the study of migration in Bolivia. This is reaffirmed by the author of this article, who assesses the state of the research on transnational migration by Bolivian men and women, and its effects on the societies of origin. The relevance of this information is its engagement with a process that has become increasingly dynamic and significant, especially in the last ten years, when thousands of our compatriots left Bolivia in search of the “European dream.”

Keywords : International migration; migration flows; remittances; labour migration; migration by women; labour markets; migrant workers.
