Is the MAS a grouping of social movements, a populist phenomenon or a new indigenous-campesino left-wing movement? How should we categorise the form of collective action developed by the coca-growers’ movement? Is it a political party or a trade union network? What are the ideological and symbolic points of reference that accompany and guide this praxis? In this article, the answers to these questions point to a political movement with a completely new form of collective action.
