Abstract

GUTIERREZ DE TORANZO, Martha. Formulating budgets with gender equity:: Progress so far. Tinkazos [online]. 2010, vol.13, n.28, pp.65-77. ISSN 1990-7451.

The fight for women’s economic and social rights has moved into the field of public finance. Women in Latin America and Bolivia have been analysing public sector budgets for more than 10 years, and it is clear that the budget for gender equity is insignificant. The task now is to progress towards the formulation of equitable budgets. This article looks at how much has been achieved in this area, and how.

Keywords : gender equity; women - economic and social rights; state budget; budgetary policy; budget - gender perspective; public expenditure - gender; budget resources - gender; public policydegradation; environmental research.
