Abstract

WANDERLEY, Fernanda. Political participation by women and the gender equity agenda in Bolivia . Tinkazos [online]. 2010, vol.13, n.28, pp.09-31. ISSN 1990-7451.

In this dialogue, five women who are committed to gender issues and the discussion of these in Bolivia analyse progress and setbacks in political participation by women in the context of the process of change currently under way in the country. The absence of a gender equity agenda, the tension between legislation and how it is applied, the currency of concepts such as decolonisation and depatriarchalisation, and the clear presence of new leadership in the women’s movements are among the subjects discussed.

Keywords : women; gender; gender equity; political participation; legislation; public policy; depatriarchalisation.
