VILLEGAS, Zulma y MARTINEZ, José. Support for land reform among groups responsible for deforestation in Bolivia. Tinkazos [online]. 2009, vol.12, n.27, pp. 33-47. ISSN 1990-7451.
Until 1975, 60% of Bolivias territory was covered by different types of forest. These forests contained most of the countrys rich biodiversity. During the 1990s and the first decade of the 21st century, deforestation has been accelerating rapidly. Those responsible for deforestation are emerging as stakeholder groups and consolidating their position.
