Abstract

ORLANDONI RODRIGUEZ, Juan Pablo. METASTATIC PROSTATE ADENOCARCINOMA, ABOUT A CASE. Rev Cient Cienc Méd [online]. 2024, vol.27, n.1, pp.47-52.  Epub June 30, 2024. ISSN 1817-7433.

Metastatic prostate adenocarcinoma is an advanced form of prostate cancer that presents significant clinical complications, especially when it spreads to the spine and bladder. This progression can cause severe pain, neurological dysfunction, and urinary problems. This study reviews the case of a 68-year-old male patient with metastatic prostate adenocarcinoma who presented with symptoms such as lower back pain, hematuria, fecal impaction, and neurological issues. Imaging studies like CT and MRI, along with biopsy and immunohistochemistry, were performed to confirm the diagnosis. Treatment included radiotherapy and androgen blockade. The patient developed tumor infiltration in T11 and soft tissues, and despite adjustments in radiotherapy, total PSA levels continued to rise. Additionally, metastatic urothelial carcinoma was identified in the bladder. Managing these cases requires a multidisciplinary approach to control metastatic spread and its debilitating effects.
