The nomenclature of neoplasms is crucial for the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of oncological diseases, but it is plagued by cognitive conflicts and exceptions that generate confusion among healthcare professionals. This article analyzes these conflicts and presents unpublished rules developed through teaching and clinical experien- ce, aiming to systematize and clarify neoplastic nomenclature.

The objective is propose new unpublished rules that definitively resolve the cognitive conflicts present in the nomenclature of neoplasms.

These rules aim to standardize the exceptions to the nomenclature rules and facilitate their understanding, redu- cing diagnostic and therapeutic errors. The proposed systematization improves diagnostic accuracy and promotes appropriate treatment for patients, resolving the cognitive conflicts frequently faced by healthcare professionals.
