Abdominal tuberculosis is a disease characterized by a protean clinical picture ,which may take various clinical forms.This infection is a great imitator of other abdominal diseases and is a major diagnostic challenge. An open mind and a high index of suspicion are an important factor for timely diagnosis and avoid complications.There are several research methods to evaluate and confirm cases of gastrointestinal tuberculosis. The early assessment, timely start of tuberculosis medical therapy and surgical treatment are essential to prevent morbidity and mortality. This article describes and examines the main clinical, laboratory findings and therapeutic decisions made in a case of abdominal tuberculosis, which initially impressed as a gastrointestinal neoplasia. A review of the literature is included.
