Abstract

Marchiafava Bignami disease is a toxic encephalopathy that can be or not associated whit cronic alcohol consume, poor nutritional statement or it is idiopathic. Pathologically it is characterized by the production of the callosum corpus necrosis with local or global affection and a progressive demyelination of the white matter. Presents multiple neurological manifestations such as stupor, coma, emotional disturbances and pyramidal manifestations presented in an acute stage, and in a state of chronic cognitive impairment, dysarthria, gait disturbance.The deter-mination is relevantly diagnosed by pathological picture or confirmatory.
